Viterbo Soccer School of Excellence

The Academy sessions are the bedrock of the Viterbo School of Excellence. The aim of the academy is to bring the area’s better and more committed players together for additional advanced coaching. The academy will run throughout the year (fall, spring, & winter sessions) and once a player is a member of the academy they will be invited to continue to participate in the sessions throughout their youth soccer careers.

We feel it is essential that our better players are recognized as such and are exposed to training specific to their individual needs. We also feel that it is important for these players to train alongside each other on a regular basis.  Our top class coaching staff has designed a comprehensive syllabus for children aged 6 to 18 with a particular emphasis on developing individual technique, good soccer habits, awareness and decision making.

All Viterbo academy players will be recognized as such, provided with unique Viterbo School of excellence apparel, invited to attend Viterbo University games and training sessions, and will receive discounted prices for all other Viterbo soccer camps.

2009 Goalkeeper Academy

The goalkeeper is a specialist position but nevertheless it is an integral part of the team with large influence and responsibility. The Viterbo School of Excellence is pleased to offer weekly coaching to goalkeepers of all ages and abilities who wish to improve their level of performance.

It is important for goalkeepers to work alongside other goalkeepers and with specialist coaches as often as possible. Through our weekly sessions each player will receive expert tuition in all areas of the position. The group will be small and therefore each player will get maximum individual attention and coaching. Each keeper will be assessed and given regular feedback along with suggestions for individual practice.
