Camp Format:
The 4-day camp will feature a complete team training session in the mornings with players broken into groups each working on a different aspect of the game. The afternoons will see players involved in 11v 11 game situations with their teammates in friendly competition against teams from other area schools.

Individual technique – Players will be encouraged to develop all areas of their technical ability, but above all they will learn how to use their technique in game situations. Players will learn how greater technique can create options for them within the game and how that can lead to increased tactical awareness and better decision-making.

Conditioning – Physical conditioning is a vital part of any players’ pre-season preparation, and will be touched on during the camp. Although there won’t be any specific conditioning sessions, it will be an intensive 4 days in which the stamina of players will be put to the test.

Small Sided Games – Players will be introduced to tactical ideas via small-sided games played under varying conditions. The objectives, rules, and dimensions are altered to encourage players to find their own success and to understand the consequences of the decisions they make. The coach gives advice but the game itself teaches the players.

11 v 11 games – Each afternoon the players will be divided into teams to play full field games. Teams will play in various formations and under different specific instructions as provided by the coaching staff. Players will be able to put new ideas and skills into immediate practice, and also develop a greater understanding of the tactical elements of the game.
